Approximately 385,000* men died in new york city during that time, so we’d need 16% of them to be gay in order for more to have died than in Vietnam.

(Those other numbers, and figures like them, are totally wrong, though. It’s easy to see that there weren’t more gay men dying in new york than there were men dying in new york.)

English has a lot more words created for very specific phenomena! It’s not just rick-rolling. Language is always evolving and it’s super interesting! Here’s a list of hyper-specific/untranslatable words in English.

This list is actually really surprising, I can’t believe no other language has a word for some of these things!

Going through puberty #1 was not fun at the time, but I like how my body looks after going through both puberties. I like my hips, I like how I have two different colors of body hair, I like the shape of my face. I don't know if I would have liked my body more if I'd only gone through puberty #2, but I also think I would be a very different person, because a lot of who I am and what I like has been shaped by how I look.
